The Integrated Solar Design Roof has been chosen by the University of Arizona team for its entry into the 2009 Solar Decathlon.
Tucson, Arizona, July 8, 2009 -- The Integrated Solar Design Roof has been chosen by the University of Arizona team for its entry into the 2009 Solar Decathlon. See the team in operation @ www.uasolardecathlon.com/archives/896 The Solar Decathlon competition will take place October 9 -13 and 15-18, 2009 at the Nations Capitol in Washington D.C. The Solar Decathlon joins 20 college and university teams in a competition to design, build, and operate the most attractive and energy-efficient solar-powered house. The University of Arizona entry is being consructed in Tucson, Arizona, and will be disassembled and transported to the National Mall, Washington D.C. for reassembly in October. The house incorporates all the leading solar technology the students can imagine and assemble in one house.
The solar roof, designed and built by Delmar Benjamin, uses the most powerful panels avalible in a patent pending sealed racking system.
Integrated Solar Design, LLC was set up to manufacture and install the patent pending sealed systems designed and built by Delmar Benjamin. The company takes the project from inception, through design, engineering, manufacturing,permitting, and final installation.
